● About

Why Mount Haggin Montessori Preschool?

A Fun Beginning for Lifelong Learners

We’re empowering our children with skills of independent learning and creativity, guided by the Montessori philosophy and rich outdoor play.

Children can grow at their own rhythm, supported, respected, and curiosity-led.

● Our Mission & Philosophy

Our Principles

We Follow the Child

Every child arrives with an inner drive to explore, learn, and discover. Our role is to observe with intention, guide with gentleness, and prepare an environment that invites independence and confidence.

Children are trusted here. And they rise beautifully to that trust.

Prepared Enviornment

Our classrooms are calm, uncluttered, and purposeful. Each material is chosen with intention an beauty. Children move freely through the space, selecting work that calls to them and engaging in deep concentration.

Indoors offers structure. Outdoors expands it.

Wonder is our Compass

We believe wonder is the heartbeat of childhood. It shows up in quiet discoveries, slow moments, and tiny details like a ladybug on a leaf, the sound of snow under boots, sunlight across a sandpaper letter.

We protect that wonder fiercely.
We nurture it intentionally.

Because wonder is what makes learning joyful.

Mixed Aged Communities

In our 0–2 Baby Room and 2–6 Toddler Room, children learn from one another naturally. Younger children observe and model older peers; older children develop leadership, confidence, and empathy.

This creates a community that feels like family, supportive, warm, and connected.

Nature Enriches

With Mount Haggin as our backdrop, the natural world is woven into the fabric of the child’s day. Nature gives dimension to Montessori work:

• Sensorial materials become real-world experiences
• Practical life expands to gardening, care for creatures, and seasonal observation
• Outdoor exploration nurtures confidence, grounding, and curiosity

Children don’t just learn concepts—they experience them.

Respect at the Center

Respect guides everything:
respect for the child, for their pace, for each other, and for the environment.
We model grace and courtesy, peaceful communication, and care for the world around us.

Children internalize what they see.
At Mount Haggin, they see respect in action every day.
